Bloomberg Elevates Front Office Efficiency With Real-Time Events Data

PR Newswire

Real-Time solution now offers unified pipeline for events, news insights, market data, pricing, and analytics to service and automate full spectrum of workflows

NEW YORK, April 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Bloomberg today announced the launch of its Real-Time Events Data solution, a suite of notification-driven market event feeds that extract and normalize data from unstructured sources in real time. The solution enhances Bloomberg's real-time market data feed, B-PIPE, and represents the next generation of content access—utilizing instrument identifiers (e.g., FIGI) to deliver a comprehensive suite of market data, pricing, events, news insights, and analytics that support front-office workflows such as trading, pricing, and risk management.

"Events data has traditionally posed challenges for front-office professionals due to fragmented disclosures and required manual searches across sources, time-sensitivity of the data, and the need to monitor up to thousands of tickers at once," said Colette Garcia, Global Head of Enterprise Data Real-Time Content at Bloomberg. "As the front office embraces automation to navigate evolving market conditions driven by regulation, multi-asset trading strategies and volatility, Bloomberg is committed to delivering real-time events data alongside B-PIPE market data to empower customers to make informed, data-centric decisions for immediate alpha capture and effective risk management."

Bloomberg's Real-Time Events Data solution provides timely, high-quality streaming event updates. Rather than receiving a firehose of information, customers benefit from the ability to subscribe to real-time, push-based updates which only cover events of interest. The products currently available as part of Bloomberg's Real-Time Events Data solution include the following, with more datasets, including Corporate Actions and Dividend Projections, to be made available later this year:

  • Corporate Earnings: Bloomberg's Corporate Earnings data feed provides event-driven earnings actuals, as well as guidance and forecast updates. It includes market-moving key performance indicators (KPIs) reported by more than 10,000 different companies, primarily sourced from press releases, public-facing websites and company filings.
  • Corporate Events Calendar: Bloomberg's Corporate Events Calendar data feed covers more than 50,000 public companies globally and provides forward-looking calendar schedule estimates, announcements and updates for company events including earnings releases and calls, sales results, shareholder meetings, conference presentations and M&A calls. In addition, Bloomberg provides estimated schedules for events using proprietary forecasting models.
  • Economic Releases: Bloomberg's Economic Releases data feed provides consolidated and reliable delivery of economic release actuals and consensus updates. Its coverage includes market-moving interest rates, unemployment, inflation, consumer confidence and government auction announcements for up to 3,000 indicators spanning more than 100 countries and regions, and sourced from over 300 providers.

Bloomberg combines automation and analyst oversight to provide mission-critical events data feeds that meet the speed and consistency demanded by front-office teams. The company utilizes automated data collection, text analysis and data parsing to capture hundreds of thousands of announcements, press releases, filings and broker updates the moment they're disclosed, and employs domain experts to evaluate ambiguous or high-impact data before major updates go live. Additionally, several layers of quality gates improve the accuracy of the feeds.

All of the products listed above which are available via Bloomberg's Real-Time Events Data solution for use across the enterprise can also be used with desktop solutions on the Bloomberg Terminal, ensuring data consistency across both user and automated workflows. Bloomberg Terminal customers can access corporate earnings via {MODL}, corporate calendars via {EVTS} and economic releases via {ECO}.
